First Sunscreen Dispenser “RAY” to be placed in a public park in Palm Beach County.

May is Melanoma Awareness Month Nationwide – Be sun safe!

What: Unveiling ceremony launching first location of a public sunscreen dispenser in a county park

Who: County Commissioner Paulette Burdick and the Richard David Kann Melanoma Foundation*

When: Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 1:30 p.m.

Where: Okeeheelee Golf Course, Okeeheelee Park, 7715 Forest Hill Boulevard, west of West Palm Beach (to the right of the club house, in the butterfly garden)

Why: Promote sun safety and to provide protection against the potentially deadly effects of overexposure to the sun’s harmful UV rays. Many units have been donated by *Mrs. Joanne Leibovit, to honor the memory of her son, Attorney Jeffrey Leibovit, who passed away from melanoma twenty five years ago. Mrs. Leibovit will be in attendance, as will *Mrs. Rachel (Rae) Kann, the mother of Richard David Kann, for whom the foundation was named, when he too, died of a late detected melanoma at age 44.
